Frani left a successful graphics design business in 1995 to start a new career building houses and in 2001 formed Cygnet Development, LLC.  Ask Frani what she does for a living her response is “I’m a builder”, and you take one look at her and wonder if you heard her correctly.  She stands 5 feet 2 inches tall in her petite frame but she packs a lot of punch per square inch. Now 14 years into her new career, she loves everyday and is passionate about her work.

Frani leads the conceptual development of every project beginning with the conviction that each house is unique and demands knowledge and creativity to achieve the best results.  Not only does Frani manage the creative process, she manages the construction and execution of the plans  for each project .

Educated at Parsons School of Design in NYC, she looks at her homes as 3 dimensional art that have unique personalities to themselves and that’s why she only works on one project at a time to ensure that every detail is done to perfection.

Frani has won numerous Home Builders Association of Connecticut awards for her houses including a Grand Award for Remodeled Home of the Year.

Frani believes that good design comes from a well organized process, producing a wide variety of options that lead to the most informed solution.

The process encompasses 3 basic values.

    1. Being aware of the impacts of our work on the earth and making the most of our resources.
    2. Exploring the fundamentals between nature and the built environment, between people and place; between past and future.
    3. Buiding with an aesthetic quality, emotional value, and moral dimension that reflect the culture and character of the community.
